Traditionally, the Student Board representative for an academic year is selected during the University Student Government elections.

Tavis Smiley Brings Tour to UDC

Tavis Smiley, famed activist, author, and television and radio host brought his annual Historically Black Colleges and Universities Talented Tenth Tour presented by the Navy to the University of the District of Columbia.
UDC was the third stop of his five city tour with his appearance consisting of a lecture as well as a question and answer session with audience members.

COES is Proud to Serve the District

Community Outreach and Extension Services (COES) of the University of the District of Columbia is working diligently as a part of the only totally urban land grant institution in the nation. Being an urban land grant institution means that UDC is legislatively required to teach and train, conduct relevant research, and extend beneficial information to District residents and the University receives funding by USDA.

Many of you wonder what the purpose of our student government is. The job of the Undergraduate Student Government Association is to represent the student body. In various situations, your USGA will be your link to the university administration.
During the last months, the executive council has been working tirelessly on different tasks including planning and organizing Freshman Orientation, a Freshman Week that took place in the month of September and that featured activities including panel discussions, a nighttime cruise, karaoke, and a movie screening.

The Trojan Evolve National Bus Tour came through UDC on Wednesday, Sept. 24 and with games like racing to put a condom on a banana and tossing a pig into a hoop, the whole thing might have seemed a bit silly. But one look at the dry-erase board next to the pig toss and one could easily see that sexual health in America is a critical issue: a quarter of teenage girls have an STI (sexually transmitted infection) and 65 million Americans live with an incurable STI.
